Gift Box

This month at SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY is again {anything goes}

Here's what I created. I love recycling! I used a burger box I got a Wendy's and covered it and ,voila, I had a cute gift box!
 

 

 This is the box.

 

I carefully opened it up.

 

 I covered it with glue.

 

I laid it on top of the paper and rolled it with a brayer.

 

 Then I let it dry thoroughly and cut it out.

 

I put it back together and this is what it looked like.

 

I decorated the box and added a gift.

A Christmas Decoration

Just want to remind you about the SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY challenge going on until the end of the month! Check out the details HERE and see what is being offered this month as a prizes.

 

I decided to decorate another bottle.

See below for a mini-tutorial on how I make the decorated bottle.

This would be great to put candy canes in!
Or pencils for a teacher gift!
You could put a tealight in it.
There's so many things it could be used for!

Here's how I paint my bottles.

Supplies:

~cleaned bottle

~acrylic paints (I use antique white as a base color)

~sponge

~tray (optional)

~clear spray lacquer

 



 

1. Pour some paint in the tray. Dab the sponge into the paint.

 

2. Dab the sponge onto the bottle. Let it dry THOROUGHLY.

Then do a second coat and let it dry THOROUGHLY.

 

3. Clean the sponge and then paint the bottle again with the color you want it.

Wait for it to dry and paint it the second time.

 

4. Once it's really dry, (I usually wait overnight) spray it with the clear spray.

5.Let it dry AGAIN and embellish it as you would like.

 

Decorate with ribbon, twine, buttons, rubons, strips of paper, flowers, etc.

Spark Your Creativity!

Corrinne has started a new monthly challenge called "SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY" and she asked me to be a part of her team and I gladly said YES!

She is sponsoring a prize as well as Naomi, on the team is offering 4 cute digis!

 

Today the first challenge has been posted and it's ANYTHING GOES!

 

I recycled a Qtip box and made a gift box.

 

 

Here's the Qtip box.

 

I opened it up carefully and laid it out flat.

 

I did the same with the bottom.

 

I chose the papers for each piece.

 

I covered the piece with glue.

I glued the piece to my design paper.

I did the same with the bottom.

 

I let them dry for a few minutes before cutting around the edges.

 

Once dry, I glued the pieces back together.

Those little clips are AWESOME for keeping things together.

I embellished the box and inked the edges. Voila, a perfect gift box!
